Frequently asked questions
How are characters counted?
Characters are Unicode code points, including spaces, punctuation and line breaks. Combined emoji may contain several code points.
How are words counted?
Intl.Segmenter uses Chinese word segmentation, including Han and English words. Results may vary slightly between browser versions.
Why is there no result for empty input?
Empty input prompts you to enter text or load the example; no statistics are generated. Lines in nonempty text are counted using line breaks; a trailing line break adds an empty line.
